Only a small number of companies do business with the government. The ones that do gain a customer that spends money with American companies every day.

A customer that keeps buying
- Multi-year contracts. Certain contracts let you sell directly to agencies for multiple years. The government values reputable, consistent vendors.
- A second income stream. Government sales don't depend on the same buyers as your commercial business.
- New relationships. Connections with agencies, contracting officers, and other companies that are hard to make on your own.
- An edge on competitors. Most of your competitors aren't selling to the government yet.

What business owners ask us first
Straight answers to the questions we hear most from owners who are new to government work.
Ask us your own questionIs my company the right size for government work?
We work with small, medium, and large companies. The first questions are whether agencies buy what you sell and whether your company is registered correctly to sell it. Tell us about your business and we will tell you plainly where you stand.
What do I need before I can bid on federal work?
A System for Award Management (SAM) registration. You must have one to obtain any Federal Government work. State e-commerce registrations, NECO (Navy), and DIBBS (Defense Logistics Agency) give you access to additional opportunities. We make sure each one is set up correctly.
What is a GSA or VA Schedule contract?
It is also known as a Federal Supply Schedule contract. Certain contracts allow your company to sell directly to government agencies for multiple years. Your company must meet specific qualifications to be eligible, so we review those with you first. The solicitation proposal is hundreds of pages long, and we guide you through it to final submittal.
Do I have to hire a consultant to sell to the government?
No. Government Marketplace is a privately owned company, not a government agency, and you do not have to use our services to do business with the government. What we offer is experience: our team makes sure your registrations and proposals are done correctly.
Can you guarantee that my company will win a contract?
No. Award decisions are made by the agencies, and we cannot guarantee that your company will be eligible, approved, or awarded a contract. What we can do is make sure your registrations are correct and your proposals are complete and written the way agencies expect.
